A partire dal 30 giugno 2017 il governo ha disposto importanti cambiamenti sui visti di lavoro per l’Australia (in particolare sul visto 457) e quindi la vecchia lista è stata rivista, aggiornata ed è entrata ufficialmente in vigore nella sua nuova veste a partire dal 1° Luglio 2017.
Da allora coloro che richiedono un visto per lavorare in Australia con uno sponsor o aspirano ad un visto permanente devono svolgere un lavoro che rientri in una di queste 2 liste: la Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) o la Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
In generale, la Short-term Skilled Occupation List consente di ottenere un visto lavorativo valido 2 anni, mentre la Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List fino a 4 anni e rappresenta la porta di accesso alla tanto agognata residenza permanente.

Quali visti sono interessati dalla MLTSSL e dalla STSOL?
La tua professione deve rientrare nella MLTSSL se vuoi applicare per uno dei seguenti visti:
- Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) – Points-tested stream
- Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) – Family nominated
- Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) – Graduate Work Stream
La tua professione deve rientrare nella MLTSSL o nella STSOL se vuoi applicare per uno dei seguenti visti:
- Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457), meglio noto come Sponsor Visa
- Employer Nominated Scheme (subclass 186)
- Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)
- Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) – State or Territory nominated
Le occupazioni incluse nelle liste vengono aggiornate ogni 6 mesi circa. L’ultima modifica è entrata in vigore a partire dal 17 gennaio 2018 ma ha comportato cambiamenti limitati alle Skilled Occupation Lists (per info consulta la pagina che riassume i cambiamenti introdotti a gennaio 2018).

Le occupazioni incluse nelle liste vengono aggiornate ogni 6 mesi circa. L’ultima modifica è stata introdotta lo scorso 11 marzo 2019 e ha portato interessanti novità tra le professioni che facilitano il percorso verso la residenza permanente.
Da oggi coreografi, calciatori, musicisti, e multimedia specialists sono inclusi nella MLTSSL e potranno quindi intraprendere l’iter per rimanere a lungo termine in Australia!

La lista delle occupazioni richieste nelle aree regional
Oltre alla MLTSSL e alla STSOL esiste anche un’altra lista, la Regional Occupation List (ROL), che include le occupazioni più richieste nelle cosiddette “aree regional”, ovvero generalmente quelle aree che si trovano al di fuori delle grandi città (ma ci sono alcune città come Hobart in Tasmania che sono considerate regional) e che pur essendo molto proficue dal punto di vista economico sono poco ambite dai professionisti che ricoprono alcune mansioni specifiche.
Chi svolge una delle professioni presenti nella lista e decide di lavorare in un’area regional può, quindi, richiedere il Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) Visa che può portare, dopo qualche anno, alla tanto agognata residenza permanente in Australia.
Ma quali sono queste regional areas australiane?
- Australian Capital Territory
- Northern Territory
- South Australia
- Tasmania
- New South Wales, escluse Sydney, Newcastle e Wollongong
- Victoria, esclusa l’area metropolitana di Melbourne
- Queensland, escluse Brisbane e Gold Coast
- Western Australia, esclusa Perth e le aree circostanti
Anche questa lista ha subito dei cambiamenti ed in particolare alcune aree regional hanno reso più semplice l’accesso allo sponsor e alla residenza permanente per chi decide di vivere e lavorare in questi territori. Questo significa che da adesso molti studenti internazionali potranno applicare per un visto permanente se lavorano in specifiche aree del territorio australiano!
A partire da gennaio 2019 sono stati siglati dei nuovi DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement), accordi che puntano a bilanciare la popolazione migrante qualificata in una specifica area. I DAMA in questione riguardano il Northern Territory, il Western Australia (solo nell’area di Goldfields, a sud-est dello stato) e il South Australia (sia ad Adelaide che nell’area regionale). I settori delle occupazioni coinvolte in questi accordi sono molteplici e variano da stato a stato: dall’industria mineraria, all’edilizia, l’ingegneria, la sanità, l’assistenza all’infanzia, l’hospitality e il beauty care.

UNIVERSITÀ WESTERN AUSTRALIA: una nuova opportunità per puntare alla PR
A partire da settembre 2018, il Western Australia ha introdotto una nuova grande novità per gli studenti internazionali che aspirano alla residenza permanente!
Per chi si trova nella terra dei canguri già da qualche anno o per chi ha intenzione di partire e svolgere qui un percorso universitario c’è una nuova possibilità da tenere in considerazione: grazie a questo nuovo percorso chi ha studiato per almeno 2 anni in Western Australia e ha un’esperienza lavorativa certificabile in uno dei ruoli presenti nella New Graduate Occupation List potrà aspirare alla residenza permanente in Australia!
NORTHERN TERRITORY: Oltre 100 opportunità per la residenza permanente
Dal 1° Gennaio 2019 lo stato del Northern Territory ha siglato un accordo valido per cinque anni chiamato DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) con il governo federale australiano che punta a bilanciare la popolazione migrante qualificata.
L’accordo interessa 117 professioni che consentono di ottenere uno sponsor e avviare un percorso di migrazione a chi sceglie di vivere e lavorare nel Northern Territory per almeno 3 anni.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA: cambiamenti alle General Skilled Migration Nomination policies
Il South Australia, in modo simile a quanto ha fatto il Western Australia, a partire da inizio 2019, ha introdotto alcuni cambiamenti volti ad offrire maggiori opportunità di prolungare la propria permanenza agli studenti internazionali.
L’obiettivo che si sono posti è di premiare gli studenti internazionali che hanno scelto di vivere e formarsi in South Australia: per tutti gli studenti internazionali che hanno deciso di intraprendere un percorso formativo in South Australia d’ora in avanti sarà più facile ottenere la nomination per lo Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489).
